Advocate is an easy to use, monthly spot-on treatment that protects your dog from fleas, heartworm, intestinal worms and other nasty parasites. Advocate provides protection against fleas, mites, lice, heartworm and intestinal worms. It does not provide protection against tapeworms or ticks. Highly recommended for puppies, and dogs in non-tick affected areas. Safety information: Safe for treatment of puppies from 6 weeks of age, and safe for use in pregnant and lactating queens. Waterproof after 2 hours. Advocate does not protect against paralysis ticks, which are a risk in many parts of Australia (particularly the Eastern Coastline). To protect against ticks, we recommend pairing with a Seresto collar, or swapping to a tick preventative. It also doesnt protect against the hydatid tapeworm, which can be transmitted from eating the organs of dead animals. If this is a risk for your dog, pair with Drontal every 6 weeks. Why is Advocate important?
Fleas:Fleas are small wingless insects which bite your dog, feeding on their blood. This can cause a persistently itchy dermatitis, particularly in dogs with Flea Allergy Dermatitis.
Heartworm: Immature heartworm larvae are spread by mosquito bites. Left untreated, heartworm infection can cause lung and heart disease which can be fatal.
Intestinal Worms: Intestinal worms may cause a wide range of clinical signs in cats depending on the species of worm, the age of the animal and the extent of infestation.
Mites: Infestation with mites can cause severe irritation to your pets ears and skin.
